Verse of the Day May 11th

Verse of the Day May 11th

1 Peter 5:9

9 Resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.

Meaning of the Verse:

Full passage:

I exhort the elders among you as a fellow elder and witness to the sufferings of Christ, as well as one who shares in the glory about to be revealed: 2 Shepherd God’s flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion but willingly, as God would have you;  not out of greed for money but eagerly; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. 5 In the same way, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. All of you clothe yourselves with  humility toward one another, because

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Conclusion

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you. 8 Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour. 9 Resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.

10 The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while. 11 To him be dominion forever] Amen.

12 Through Silvanus,[i] a faithful brother (as I consider him), I have written to you briefly in order to encourage you and to testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand firm in it! 13 She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, sends you greetings, as does Mark, my son. 14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace to all of you who are in Christ.

Explanation:

This passage is about " Being an example to the flock"  Especially for the Elders of the church. This is a closing message telling those in charge of the church and has more experience suffering for the God we serve that they do not become like some of the false preachers and teachers we see today. Extorting their congregation out of money to buy themselves fancy goods or ruling over them with an Iron first but lovingly by the grace of God. Also for the young people in the church to listen to the teachings of the leaders in charge to humble themselves and not in pride through instruction like we see today when something they no more than the people who have more experience in Christ and are not willing to listen.

Finally telling both to not worry about the things in this world and not be clouded by other things and distractions of the world. The devil will try his best to put you in a snare if you are not careful, whether thats in pride, anger, lust or any sin he can trap you in. Thats why its importan to take to other experienced believers because like in the passage  Resist him, firm in the faith, knowing that the same kind of sufferings are being experienced by your fellow believers throughout the world.” You are not alone, the enemy wants you to keep you alone making you think that you are the only one in the world that is suffering this problem but you're not.

We all have to stand firm you are not alone. Stay in the word, pray to God what’s pleasing to him, and always stay connected with other brothers and sisters of faith who can help you, especially the leader of your church. God is our strength and no matter what we are going through “He who started a good work in you will finish it’ I know there are times when you feel like a failure. For the 100th time, you did the same sinful thing again and it breaks your heart. But, the fact that the sin you have committed is breaking your heart is God showing you that he is still working on you. We all are failures and will continue falling short until we get our glorified bodies. God picks us up in all of our failures knowing that we suffer for the love he has for us and the love we have for him.

And if any of you are struggling or know of anyone who is struggling send us a prayer request message.  when we get a request will put it up anonymous on our prayer board so others can also pray for you as well. You are not alone in this battle and I pray God willing, that he will help you and lift you up to victory to overcome any battle you are in. Amen.
